I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. My Holiday's were filled with Friends and Family so it was just Merry. I have a lot of photo's that I've been taking that I can't wait to post, but I think I'm going to wait till the end of the year to do that. Then I'm going to take a short break to get the website ready for the 2008 look. Then upadte it with more photo's. Oh, I think this up coming year is going to be a good one. December 14, 2007 - Soares Wedding Photo's
So they kept me nice and busy this past couple of weeks, but the photo's from John and Kristi Soares Wedding are now up for you to look through. You can find the photo's in the '2007 folder' under 'Weddings'. Please don't forget to use the navigation bar at the top of the page to flip through all the photo's in each folder (I would hate for you to miss out on some). I think they turned out really good, and I'm really happy with the way they all turned out. I'm sure you will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed working with them. I think this is the wedding that finally got me super excitted (so excited it get's two T's) about doing more weddings in the future. All around, it's just so much fun, and maybe it's because Kristi and John were so wonderful to work with and made the whole thing a lot of fun. I had a smile on my face as I worked on each photo thinking about the fun I had taking them and being at the wedding. It might also be because I was watchign Superbad while working on them. This is besides the point though. My congratulations to them once again.
I also posted a lot of photo's I took from Disneyland when me and some friends went the other week. Check them out, and maybe let me know what you think on the guestbook (about any photo's on the website really). This has been my life for the past two weeks or so. Ofcourse this is also not counting the time I took off to go to Disneyland. So yeah... I've been very busy lately, but I have a lot of good work to show for it I think. I'm getting some photo's ready for the web now, and then back to taking more photo's. I'm also working on another story about how I ended up facing oncoming traffic on the 405 last Thursday night. So yeah... stuff coming on the way.

So I just made a quick photo update before I start working on the wedding photo's. A lot of fall leaves in the new folder and a couple really cool sunset photo's that I personally like a lot. I also posted some Engagement photo's I did this past weekend of Stephanie and Rudy Mancha. I did the photo's at Sycamore Springs and I think they turned out really well. I also can safely say that I have a new spot that I would love to do more photo's in the future. We'll see what happens though. Wedding Photo's next...

I woke up this morning and thought that the sunlight breaking through the window pooring over me gently as I laid in my bed that it smelled like apples. yeah, I know. Wierd, but true. The sunlight this morning smelled like apples. Well this all getting away from the reason I'm writing today. I was honored enough to photograph another wedding last night for John and Kristi Soares. Every wedding I get to shoot is always a learning experience, and even though I did learn a few things, I can also say that the wedding went very smoothly and I'm getting very excitted to start sorting through the photo's tonight. Before all that though, I'm going to make a photo update with the photo's I've done in the past week and then get to work on that wonderfully awesome task of sorting through wedding photo's. I just uploaded some new photo's. I added to the photoshoot I did a couple weeks ago with Bailey and Taylor the other week. They went through the Raw images and picked out some more they liked. I also did a show at Redevous for a Holiday Commercial and posted thoughs as well. I think the photo's of all the Christmas Ornaments turned out pretty good. Well, I'm happy with them. Anyways... don't forget it's quote Thursday, and I think there is going to be one more photo update over the weekend and then not till mid December. I have a wedding shoot this weekend, and that just means two weeks of working on photo's. Then a trip to LA and San Diego next weekend. All that along with trying to get the website ready for a 2008 update. Oh, so much fun work ahead of me. So I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was awesome and wonderful all around. I spent lots of time with Family and friends, and food. Lot's of food. This year I acually cooked my first Turkey too. I know you're allowed to ruin your first Thanksgiving Turkey, but I'm proud to say that it turned out great. Granted Monica did a lot of the Prep work and deserves a lot of the credit, but it was rather amazing if I don't say so meself. Well, I also worked on some more photo's and plan to post them tonight or tomorrow, so check back for thoughs. So the Saturday before Halloween my buddy Taylor and I went over to the Maverick to help Robin decorate for the Halloween party she was putting on. The party ended up being a blast, and we all had a lot of fun, but this is all besides the point. Anyways, while Tay and Meself were helping decorate we had to travel down into the basement for stuff, and well... I saw the basement as a wonderful place to do a photo shoot. So I put out a little distress call to some friends that I wanted to do a photo shoot down there for my own personal portfolio. (A sipider just crawled in front of me hanging from a web from the celling) So Bailey and Taylor voluntered to be some models for me. Well, Taylor was there to mainly do make-up... but she decided she wanted some photo's too. With the right lighting in place the basement became a wonderful place to shoot some photo's. Well, they are posted now and if you want to check them out I hope you like them too.
I also posted some other photo's including a really cool sunset photo where the sun was piercing through the clouds and creating a horseshoe image on the clouds above.

To go completly away from the photography update, I saw the Movie "into the wild" just hours ago, and it was amazing. If you can do yourself a favor this week, try and see that movie. It may change your view on things.

So I've been really busy lately, between work and life, and just haven't got around to posting any new photo's. I've taken some, but have yet to even get them off the camera into the computer. I'm really proud of a lot of the photo's and think they turned out amazing. I dropped the photo disc off with Mariah today and she really liked them too, so I'm happy. I would like to think that I know everything there is to know about shooting weddings, but I'm learning that you never really well be fully prepaird. But it was a great time though.
I also posted photo's of my friend Jennifer's new baby son Nathan Christopher. I'm not a huge fan of black and white, but I think the photo's I have of him worked so well in Black and White that I decided to go with it. Anyways, enjoy the photo's and more to come soon.

I just watched the trailer for the Seventh season of 24, and I can't even begin to explain how excitted I am for the new episodes to start. What can I say... I'm addicted. In other 'not so news' I am still working on the photo's from Mariah's wedding, and then as soon as that is done I'm going to work on the baby photo's of Nathan Christopher and upload all of them for you to check out and enjoy. With a busy weekend coming up for me this weekend I don't think I'll be posting anything till probably Sunday at the earliest. We shall see though... we shall see...

First off, don't forget that some folders in the photography section have multipule pages that you can flip through on the navigation bar at the top. Now with that in mind I just uploaded a lot of new photo's. A lot of them I really love a lot. I also posted the Voss Engagment Photo's I took. I didn't know what ones they would want to print out for thier wedding so I didn't post them till after the wedding. The wedding was yesterday and I had a blast being allowed to be the photographer. I have a lot of photo's to sort and pick through, so in the coming weeks I'll be posting all of though's. If you're waiting to see them... please just keep checking back, I hope to have them up soon. So last Sunday I did some family photo's for my friend Jenelle and her kids. It went really well, and even though most of the photo's are of the kids, I'm still pretty happy with them. I got some pretty good pics even though everyone and thier brother seemed to be at the park that afternoon.
Today though I went on a commercial shoot for work to Piasano's Pizza in Grover Beach. I can't even begin to explain how good the food is there. It's made the top 5 best meals of my life for sure. It wasn't as good as the pizza I was lucky enough to through at the Crow's Nest in Beijing, but it was pretty darn close, and for sure the best I've had in the US. Mama Piasano comes in every weekday morning at 5am and makes home made meatballs from Grandma's Recipe, and home made sause for the pizza's. It's wonderful. I feel really darn lucky today that I was able to be spoiled with such wonderful food. So good I photographed it.

So I've been really absent lately. I know this and I'm sorry. I have a note from my doctor though so it's all forgiven right? Yeah, between work, getting teeth pulled, playing Wii, and being sick I just haven't had a lot of time to do the updates to the site that I would like to do. I have some new photo's though that I'm going to post very soon. Sometime within the week I think. So check back again soon, and let's hope that I can start eating solid food again here soon.

I don't know if I can even put into words how great of a weekend I had. Most people are very aware that I love the lake, and always have a good time. But yeah, I meet a lot of cool new people and had a lot of great laughs. Just non-stop fun. Sure I'm tierd and beat from the holiday weekend... but all well worth it. I posted some of my favorite photo's from the weekend, so maybe check them out. There may be something in there you like. Or not. Whatever. It was still fun for meself.

Just finished uploading some Senior Photo's and some other random shots I took Sunday. I got back from Magic Mountain and in bed around 3am, and when the alarm went off at 8am for me to start running around taking photo's all day I hated meself a little for not allowing meself to sleep. Anyways, the photo's turned out really good. I also lucked out with getting some great kids to work with through the day. Busy, Busy, Busy. Sorry for the lack in updates lately... I've just been so busy with this and busy with that. I spent all of last week up at the lake with family and friends with some much needed relaxing. I got some pretty good photo's, and my roommate Brad got some fun shots of meself on the water too. I also put up some quick shots of Eward Brown that I took the other day for a newspaper back east. He's a survivor from when the Indianapolis was hit during World War II. The photo's aren't anything super excitting, but I thought I would post them anyways.

I'm also working on uploading a new video to the 'video' page for you to all enjoy, so check back for that soon. Well... tonight is another busy night, and then this weekend should be fun. Let's see if I bring my camera.

I've had a great couple of days. Well... to tell you the truth, my best weekend ever that started earlier this month just hasn't ended. Life is good right now. Real good. Anyhoo, I posted some new photo's. I decided to hike up Orcutt hill one day after work and get some photo's of the sunset and what ever else I could find around the area. It's one of my favorite hikes, and well... I was in the mood to take some photo's. I'm rambling now. Sorry.

Fireworks, Photo shoots, Boxing, and so much more. I just uploaded a whole boat load of new photo's. I did a photo shoot over the weekend the very lovely Deanna Rolando, and I must say that they turned out amazing. I remember waking up that morning, after a long and eventful night of drinking the friday night before hand, and thinking that all I wanted to do was go back to bed. I wasn't sure how much of a camera mood I was in at the time, but I had scheduled the shoot, and I was going to be there. Let's just say that after a few minutes on the beach with that wonderful ocean air... I got in to camera mood pretty fast. I am so happy with the way all the photo's went, and I think they are the best portrait photo's I've taken to date. Well, check them out and let me know what you think. Heck, while you're there maybe go back to the 2006 folder and check out some of the portraits from last year. if you're into that kind of thing...

How are you doing? Well... I hope things get even better for you. I just finished uploading some photo's myself. I took some portraits of the Oh kids for a surprise fathers day gift from the family. So because it was a surprise I had to wait awhile to post them. I really do like the way all the photo's turned out, and I think that as the day went on and everyone relaxed a little more the photo's started to get better as they move on. Anyways, they are up for you to check out now.
I also went to the lake last Saturday and my friend Brad got a really good pic of me on the wakeboard. I thought I would share with you, because... well, let's be honest. I look ripped. You can also check out some of Brad's other work at... go to the links page...

So last Sunday, after a long and eventfull Saturday, Me and some good friends decided to head out to the beach. I wasn't planning on bringing my camera with me, but I'm really glad I did. With the sun full in the sky I was able to get some great photo's. These are some photo's that can really tell a story when you look at them, and you don't even need to know the girls. June 05, 2007 - CHINA PHOTO'S
So after about two weeks of working on all the photo's from China I have finally posted them all. I have some more photo's to work on that I have taken since I have returned, and thoughs will get posted soon. For now I have posted all the China photo's in the '2007' folder in it's own folder titled 'China'. Because there are so many photo's I'm not adding them to an 'added' folder. Please also keep in mind that if the folder you open says that it is page 1 of 2 on the top to use the arrows on the top Navigation bar to move to the other page. This goes for all the photo folders also.
As soon as I finish working on some of these other photo's I'm going to work on writing out the story of our whole adventures while over seas. So enjoy the photo's for now, and please check back again soon when I make some more additions. Holy mother of crap. I finally finished the editing part of all the China photo's. I have 243 finished photo's narrowed down from the over 800 I took while over in China for two weeks. I have to take care of a couple things, and then I'm going to get them ready to uploaded to the site. I'm going to say that they should be up by late sunday night. Let's hope I can make that deadline. Start getting excitted.

Hello you. How are you doing today? That is wonderful. What did you do with your friday night? That doesn't sound so bad. I spent all night working on China photo's. I'm now about half way done and already beyond 100 photo's that I want to post. I plan on using this weekend to finish them up and get them posted for everyone who has been waiting to see them. I really hoped to have them up earlier, but I just really needed a break from the constant moving, and work has been really busy for me. SO yeah, thanks for being so patient. OK, so I just made another photo update with some photographs from Jayden's Baptism (My friends Mariah's and Eric's Daughter). I have to be honest and say that I'm not super excitted about the photo's, not as much as I hoped to be anyways, but I still like them all the same. I guess I'm just my own worste critic.
So anyways, I'm not going to be making any more updates on the website until I return from China. I'm leaving for the wonderful communist nation on friday and I will be returning on May 12th. I'll post an update then and then a very large photo update shortly after. Anyways, please try to survive without the quote updates and what not till I return. April 09, 2007 - Photo Update Part Two
It took me longer than I thought it would to make this second photo update, but I did finally get around to it. This photo update is all photo's I took over my many weekend out camping this month. Lot's of nature photo's and pics and what not. More than anything it was just good to get out in the open and relax. I have one more photo update to do this week, and then I'm off for two weeks backpacking my way through parts of wonderful China. Then... when I return in May there will be one of my largest photo updates of all time I'm sure. Well, check back later this week for another update.

April 09, 2007 - Photo Update Part One
I made a major photo update this evening. First, I do want to remind you that only 30 photo's will apear on each page, and that you can use the navagation bar above the photo's to change over to the next page of photo's. Anyways...
So a few weekends ago I did a photo shoot for the Orcutt Junior High Cheerleaders. My cousion is coaching the team this year and so I've been able to play photographer. This is the biggest group photo shoot I have done besides weddings and I must say that I learned a lot doing it. Shooting in natural light is just asking for shadows, and the best time of day to do the shoots is in the early hours before people start showing up in the backrounds. It became a lot of work touching up all the photo's, but in the end I think it was well worth it. I'm just hoping that they are as happy with them as I am (if not more).
I'm now going to start working on photo's from my past three camping trips and hopefully post thoughs sometime between this week and next. Maybe a couple diffrent posts as I work on them. We'll see what happens. Oh, and 24 last night was amazing.

I also have another shoot this weekend, and I have some plans on getting out into the wilderness this Sunday, so there should be a whole lot of photo updates in April. I hope you guys like the new photo's. I'm proud of a lot fo them. All the aerial photo's are from the plane ride to vegas and back. I thought shooting through the double plain windows would cause some problems, but surprisingly not as much as I thought. The night photo's were also a lot of fun for me. I don't get a lot of chances to shoot photo's at night with so many lights, so it was neat. I have a handfull of others that I want to work on and post, but those will come later. Hope you enjoy the ones I did get to work on though.

New photography has been posted. It took me long enough I know, but I did get to it so be proud of that. There are some simple cloud pics I took last month, then another self portrait that I wanted to try some things out on, and then the real fun photo's.
I took my friends up to Atascadero last Saturday morning to meet R. Lee Ermey, if you're don't recognize the name he was the drill sargent in 'Full Metal Jacket', the Janitor's Dad in 'Scrubs', is the host of the show 'Mail Call', and has been in a lot of other movies. He really is just like he is on TV and the movies... a real character. Paul and Sean were very thrilled by the surprise. When I say surprise and it involves waking up at 7am on a Saturday (and not involving cartoons) you know I'm going to make it worth it. It was a good trip and I'm thrilled that I had the chance to meet hima nd get some photo's. He told Sean to cut his hair, and when he was signing an pic for me he shouted, "Donald? That sounds like a duck! Are you a Duck?" It was awesome.
I also got photo's of some roses. I don't know what it is about roses, but I just love to photograph them. I placed one in a wine glass with some ice, an idea I stole from my friend John Grant, and snapped some pics. I had some lighting issues... but I found some good ones to work with. I hope to have time to work on more another time... but we shall see what happens in this busy life of mine.

So that photo update I've been mentioning is now posted. Yes, it's posted just for you. Our condo complex decided to still water at night, even though it was dropping to well below freezing. Well, as you can imagine the whole condo was covered in ice, but it made for some great photo's. I also went out skating with some friends for the first time in many years. I found that I don't really have it in me anymore and need to retrain meself to skate, but once again... I was able to get some great photo's out of it. Well, check them out, maybe let me know what you think, and if you want to buy any prints just let me know.

No photo updates yet. But soon... I have a busy week ahead of me with some overtime at work, a viewing of Pans Labyrinth, and helping a friend move down to LA this weekend. So I think the next time I make a photo update will be sunday at the earliest. Though when that photo update comes... it is going to be a big one. I have a lot of photo's that I'm ready to post including some ice photo's that aired on Monday and some pics of friends skating when we went out last sunday. I also took some photo's of the storm clouds today that turned out alright, I just need some time to post them all. So be patient and it will be coming soon. With the low temps and wet weather coming I'm hoping to get some more snow photo's this year. I'm still in shock that we had snow here on the coast again this year. So the season premire of 24 was amazing, and I still have another two hours tomorrow. Well... the Jack Bauer Kill Count is back, and it will be updated every night after the episode. I also got some good photo's over the weekend that I am very excitted about. New photo's are posted. The first photo post for 2007. So we seem to get a flat stanley into work very often. So I've kind of started taking photo's of our anchors/reporters at work with thier flat stanley. I thought I post the ones I took so far. I also went on a short trip to a local church and took some random photo's. Check them out. I also posted a new story about my last minute new years party. I think I may do some updates to it, but I'm lazy so that will most likely never happen. So I thought I would just post what I have so far.

I just posted the first set of quotes for the new year. I stole one from my friends little sister because I enjoyed it so much when I heard it meself. So the Jack Bauer Kill count will be running again... and I'm pumping meself up nicely for the new season with a 24 premire party at my place with all my friends that are down with the Jack Bauer Power Hour. So my new year started off with Monica tickling my toes and waking me up this morning... so I thought... well... I might as well update the website. So welcome to the new look of donaldweiting.com for 2007. Everything is mostly the same... with a couple new features. This year also qoute thursday is not going to be something for just Marissa and meself. I am always hearing people say great things, so quote Thursday is now going to open for all original qoutes I hear with credit due to that person. New photography should be coming soon. Are you guys as pumped about the new year as I am? I'm still working on some of the pages, like the links page, but everything should be fully up an running here soon I hope.
